KTXS Forecast: Nice relief from the winter chill this week

ABILENE, Texas - Sunday night lows will cool to the low/ mid-30s which means no hard freeze is expected tonight. Skies will be clear with southwest winds at 10-20 mph.

On Monday, we will begin the work week with temperatures warming to above average in the mid-60s. Skies will be sunny to mostly sunny with southeast winds at 5-15 mph. Monday night lows cool to the upper 40s/ low 50s with clear skies.

Tuesday through Wednesday, highs will be even warmer with many places reaching the low to mid-70s. Skies will remain mostly sunny to partly cloudy with southeast winds at 5-10 mph. Lows during this time will be in the upper 40s with mostly clear to partly cloudy skies.

On Thursday, highs will reach the upper 60s/ low 70s with partly cloudy skies. Into Thursday night a cold front will begin moving through the region, bringing mostly cloudy conditions, lows in the low/ mid-40s and north winds at 5-15 mph. There is also a 10 percent chance of isolated showers for the region as the front passes.

Friday's highs will be in the mid-50s, which is around normal, with mostly cloudy conditions and north winds at 10-15 mph. Rain chances will hover around 20-30 percent and linger into the over night hours. Lows Friday night will be in the low to mid-30s with mostly cloudy skies.

For the coming weekend conditions look like they will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy with highs in the low 50s/ upper 40s for the region. Rain chances will remain around 20-30 percent. Lows during this time will be below freezing which means there is a chance of wintery mix Friday night and Saturday night. We will update you as needed throughout the forecast period.
