KTXS Forecast: Nice start to the week before next cold front arrives
ABILENE, Texas - Good morning! The day will begin with clear to mostly clear skies, temperatures ranging from the low 40s to low 50s and winds from the south at 5-15 mph. A warm jacket will be needed this morning.
Monday afternoon highs warm to the low/ mid-80s with sunny to mostly sunny skies and winds build front the south/ southwest at 10-20 mph. Monday night will be mostly clear to partly cloudy with lows in the upper 50s/ low 60s.
Tuesday the area will warm quickly to the low/ mid-90s by the afternoon. Skies remain sunny to mostly sunny with winds from the southwest at 10-20 mph. Tuesday night a cold front will begin to move through the region so breezy winds will remain, lows cool to the low 60s, skies become partly cloudy and there will be a 10-20 percent chance of overnight thunderstorms for the region.
By Wednesday afternoon highs will be in the upper 70s/ low 80s with clearing skies and winds from the northwest at 10-15 mph. Wednesday night skies will be partly cloudy with lows in the low/ mid-50s.
For Thursday highs jump back to the mid/ upper 80s with mostly sunny to partly cloudy conditions. Thursday night lows cool to the low/ mid-60s with partly cloudy skies and winds from the southwest at 10-15 mph.
On Friday the region will see highs reach the low 90s with partly cloudy skies and winds from the southwest at 10-15 mph. There will be a 10-20 percent chance of thundershowers to thunderstorms through the afternoon and overnight. Lows are expected to be in the mid-60s with partly cloudy to mostly cloudy conditions.
Currently for the coming weekend, both Saturday and Sunday look like they will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy with temperatures in the upper 80s/ low 90s on Saturday and low/ mid-80s Sunday. Rain chances through the weekend will hover around 20-30 percent with lows in the low 60s.
