KTXS Forecast: One day break from the heat

ABILENE, Texas - High temperatures over most of our area were in the 90s Tuesday - 10-15 degrees above normal for this time of year. A cold front is forecast to move into our area early Wednesday and bring slightly below normal high temperatures for Wednesday.

Clouds should increase Tuesday night. Low temperatures Wednesday morning should be around 60. Breezy north winds at 15-20 mph by afternoon should help keep high temperatures in the low to middle 70s Wednesday. A weakening upper level disturbance could bring a few showers to our area for Wednesday morning. Storms are not expected. Clearing skies are expected for the afternoon.

Southeast winds are forecast to be back with us for Wednesday night. Look for partly cloudy skies with low temperatures Thursday morning in the lower 50s.

Partly cloudy skies and very warm temperatures are forecast for Thursday and Friday. High temperatures should be in the upper 80s Thursday and around 90 Friday.

A cold front is expected to move into our area Friday night and bring a good chance for thunderstorms Saturday morning. Storms may be east of our area by Saturday afternoon. High temperatures should be near 80 Saturday.

Mostly fair and cooler conditions are forecast for Sunday. High temperatures should be around 70. Very warm air is right back with us for Monday and Tuesday.
