KTXS Forecast: Perfect Labor Day weather ahead

ABILENE, Texas - After a rainy start for southern portions of the Big Country, Sunday maintained dry conditions and warm temperatures in the upper 80's to mid-90's. Dry conditions will carry on tonight through Monday. Lows will be in the upper 60's.

Labor Day, expect temperatures to warm into the mid-90's with lots of sunshine. Winds will be from the south at 10 mph. Overnight, skies should stay mostly clear and lows will be in the upper 60's/ lower 70's.

Tuesday, the day is expected to start dry but cloud cover will build into the afternoon as a front moves toward the Big Country. As it approaches, rain should develop along the southern half of the Big Country. Winds will shift to the north and gust up to about 20 mph. Highs will be in the mid-80's in northern areas and lower 90's mainly south of Interstate 20. Skies will clear overnight and lows will be in the low to mid-60's.

Wednesday, skies will continue to clear as the front leaves our area. Highs will be in the low to mid-80's across the Big Country. Winds will be from the north/northeast at 10-15 mph. Overnight, lows will be in the upper 50's/ low 60's with mostly clear skies.

Through the rest of the week, expect temperatures to slowly warm back to the upper 80's/ lower 90's across the Big Country. Skies are expected to stay mostly clear to partly cloudy through the week and into the weekend.
