KTXS Forecast: Quick warm up with highs back in the upper 80s

ABILENE, Texas - Thursday morning will be clear to mostly clear with temperatures ranging from the upper 40s to mid-50s and winds will be out of the southwest at 10-20 mph. Jackets will likely be needed this morning.

Thursday afternoon skies remain mostly sunny with highs bouncing back quickly to the upper 80s/ low 90s across the region. Thursday night will be mostly clear to partly cloudy with lows in the upper 50s/ low 60s.

For our Friday we will begin mostly sunny but build cloud cover into the afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 80s/ low 90s with winds from the south at 10-15 mph. Friday night a cold front starts moving through the Big Country so skies will become partly cloudy/ mostly cloudy with lows in the mid-60s and winds switching to the northwest at 10-15 mph. There will also be a 30-40 percent chance of thunderstorms overnight.

Saturday afternoon will remain partly cloudy with rain chances hovering around 20-30 percent through the day. Highs will be in the upper 70s/ low 80s and winds will be from the northwest at 10-15 mph. Sunday night thunderstorm chances bump up to 40-50 percent overnight with lows in the mid-40s.

On Sunday, rain chances will decrease through the morning and leave the forecast by the afternoon. Skies clear to mostly sunny and highs will be in the upper 60s/ low 70s. Sunday night will be clear and in the upper 40s.

Monday afternoon skies will be sunny with highs warming to the low/ mid-80s. Sunday night skies will be clear with lows in the mid-50s and winds from the southwest at 5-10 mph.

Currently Tuesday and Wednesday look like they will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy with highs in the upper 80s.
