KTXS Forecast: Rain and cooler temperatures return Monday
ABILENE, Texas - Warm temperatures and gusty winds will continue overnight before a front makes its way into the Big Country early Monday. Cloud cover will increase during the overnight hours so lows will be in the mid-60's.
Monday, grab an umbrella as you head out the door. A 40 percent chance of showers in the morning will become a chance of thunderstorms for the afternoon. The main areas of rain chances are the Concho Valley/ Heartland regions, especially in the afternoon. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70's. Rain chances linger overnight but clearing out in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Tuesday, mostly cloudy conditions will continue for a majority of the Big Country. Sunshine will poke through in the northwestern most counties. Highs will be in the mid-70's. Winds remain from the northeast at 10-15 mph. Overnight, lows will only be in the upper 50's.
Wednesday, a shortwave will move across the area bringing rain chances up to 30 percent through the day. Highs will be in the mid-70's. Winds will be from the south at 15-20 mph. Lows overnight will be in the lower 60's.
Thursday, highs get back to the upper 70's with mostly cloudy conditions and a 30 percent chance of thundershowers, mainly for eastern areas. Winds will be from the south at 10-15 mph.
Friday and Saturday give us a break from the rain under mostly cloudy skies. Highs return to the lower 80's with south winds between 10-20 mph.
