KTXS Forecast: Rainy afternoon before sunny weather returns

ABILENE, Texas - Tuesday night rain chances are expected to decrease as we move into the late overnight hours. Lows will cool to the mid/ upper 30s with partly cloudy/ mostly cloudy skies and north winds at 5-10 mph.

Wednesday morning there is a 10 percent chance of lingering showers across the area. Into Wednesday afternoon skies will begin to clear and the warmer weather will return. Highs will be slightly above average in the upper 50s/ low 60s with clearing skies into the afternoon. Wednesday night conditions will be in the low to mid-40s with mostly clear skies and south winds at 5-10 mph.

Thursday and Friday highs will be in the upper 60s/ low 70s across the region with sunny to mostly sunny skies. Winds will be out of the west/ southwest at 10-15 mph. Lows during this time will be in the mid-40s with clear skies.

Saturday cloud cover will start building in ahead of our next cold front. During the afternoon skies will become partly cloudy to cloudy with highs in the mid-60s, southwest winds at 10-20 mph and a 10-20 percent chance of showers. Saturday night skies become cloudy, as the front moves through the Big Country. Rain chances continue and lows will cool to the upper 30s/ low 40s.

Sunday morning there is a 10 percent chance of lingering showers. Highs will be in the upper 50s/ low 60s with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies and strong north winds at 15-25 mph. Sunday night lows will drop to the mid-30s with clearing.

For the start of the coming work week highs will stay in the low to mid-60s, skies will be mostly sunny and winds will be out of the west at 5-10 mph.
