KTXS Forecast: Record high temperature possible Thursday
ABILENE, Texas - Very warm air raced back into our area Wednesday. High temperatures were in the middle to upper 80s. Even warmer temperatures are forecast for Thursday.
The record high temperature in Abilene for November 2nd is only 84. We are forecasting a high temperature of 88 for Abilene Thursday which would break the record for the date.
For the rest of Wednesday night, look for fair skies with low temperatures only falling to around 60 Thursday morning.
Sunny skies and strong southwest winds around 20 mph should push high temperatures into the upper 80s Thursday afternoon.
Wild fire danger will be fairly high with low afternoon humidity, high temperatures and strong winds. Many counties are already under outdoor burning bans.
A weak cold front may move south into our area late Thursday night. It could bring some cloudiness, but no rain is expected. Low temperatures Friday morning should be in the middle 50s.
That cooler air is expected to move back north during the day Friday. Sunny skies are forecast for Friday afternoon. High temperatures Friday should be in the lower to middle 80s.
Fair skies should be with us for Friday night football games. Temperatures for the games should be in the middle 70s to upper 60s.
Partly cloudy skies are forecast for Saturday and Sunday with highs both days in the middle to upper 80s. We may see a good push of cooler air move back in late Tuesday.
