KTXS Forecast: Record high temperatures possible Thursday

ABILENE, Texas - High temperatures Wednesday were well above normal - ranging from 95 in Abilene (and other sites) to 101 in San Angelo and Sterling City. Even higher temperatures are forecast for Thursday.

The record high temperatures for September 14th are 101 in Abilene and 102 in San Angelo. Abilene will probably be close to that value Thursday and San Angelo has a good chance to tie the record.

Fair skies should continue Wednesday night. Low temperatures Thursday morning should be around 70. Sunny skies and hot afternoon temperatures will be with us Thursday. High temperatures around 100 are expected over our region.

Mostly fair skies are forecast to continue Thursday night. Low temperatures Friday morning should be in the lower 70s.

A weak upper level disturbance is expected to approach our area Friday. It should bring some cloudiness for the day Friday. High temperatures should be in the middle 90s.

There is a chance for isolated thundershowers in mainly our western areas for late Friday afternoon and Friday night. Rain chances are less than 20%.

Most football games in our region will just be partly cloudy and warm with temperatures in the 80s. Low temperatures Saturday morning should be in the lower 70s.

We'll keep a slight chance for isolated showers in our area for mainly Saturday morning. High temperatures Saturday should be in the lower 90s.

Mostly sunny skies are forecast for Sunday. High temperatures should be in the low to middle 90s.

Several of our weather forecast models are bringing the remains of a Pacific Ocean tropical system through our area Monday night. This could bring a decent chance for thundershowers to our area mainly Monday night.
