KTXS Forecast: Slight break from rain chances before mid-week return

ABILENE, Texas - Tuesday morning will begin with partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies, temperatures in the mid/ upper 50s and winds from the north at 5-15 mph. The southeastern part of the Big Country, mainly around Brownwood and Coleman will have a lingering 20 percent chance of thundershowers through the morning.

Tuesday afternoon skies will be mostly sunny to partly sunny with highs in the low/ mid-70s and winds from the northeast at 5-15 mph. Into Tuesday night skies become mostly clear to partly cloudy with lows in the mid/ upper 50s.

On Wednesday the rain chances return to around 30-40 percent of thunderstorms for the region. Highs will be in the mid-70s with partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies and winds from the southeast at 5-15 mph. Thursday night thunderstorm chances build to 40-50 percent, and lows will be in the low 60s.

For Thursday rain chances remain around 30-40 percent for the Big Country. Skies stay partly cloudy to mostly cloudy with highs in the mid/ upper 70s and winds from the south at 5-10 mph. Thursday night will be cloudy with continued rain chances and lows in the low 60s.

On Friday, highs warm to the low 80s as skies stay partly cloudy and winds are out of the south at 10-20 mph. Rain chances will be around 20-30 percent for the region and decrease into the late afternoon. Friday night will be partly cloudy with lows in the low/ mid-60s.

Currently for the Easter holiday weekend, highs look like they will be in the low/ mid-80s with partly cloudy skies and a 10-20 percent chance of thundershowers to thunderstorms for the area. Lows through this period will be in the low/ mid-60s.
