KTXS Forecast: Small rain chances and warm temperatures finish the weekend

ABILENE, Texas - Storms continue to wind down across the Big Country this evening. Lows tonight will be in the lower 70's.

A few showers near the Concho Valley may start the day Sunday but most areas should stay dry. Highs will be in the lower 90's. Scattered thunderstorms could pop up in the afternoon Sunday but are expected to dissipate as the day cools. Lows Sunday will be in the lower 70's.

Labor Day, the weather is expected to cooperate with any outdoor plans you may have. Highs will be in the low to mid-90's with partly cloudy skies. A stray shower is possible but most areas should stay dry. Lows will be in the lower 70's with building cloud cover overnight.

Changes are on the way come Tuesday as a cold front moves into the area. Cloud cover and rain chances build into the afternoon as the front nears the area. Winds will shift to the north at about 20 mph and highs will stay in the lower 80's. Overnight, skies should clear and lows will be in the lower 60's.

Wednesday, cool temperatures stay around with highs in the low to mid-80's. Winds remain from the northeast at 5-10 mph. Skies should be mostly clear, or clear by the evening. Overnight, winds shift back to the southeast at 10 mph.

Thursday and Friday look to slowly warm back to the upper 80's with sunny skies staying the area.
