ABILENE, Texas - Rain is forecast to stay away from our area until possibly Friday evening when mainly our western areas could see thundershowers.

Very warm afternoon temperatures should be our main weather issue for the next several days. Low temperatures Wednesday morning should be around 60.

We'll keep some mainly high clouds in our area during the day Wednesday. High temperatures should be in the middle 90s.

Mostly fair skies are forecast for Thursday. Afternoon temperatures are expected to be in the upper 90s to around 100 degrees.

A weak upper level disturbance should approach our area from the west Friday. Scattered, mainly afternoon or evening thundershowers will be possible from Snyder to Sterling City. The better chances for rain should be farther west in the Permian Basin. High temperatures Friday should be in the low to middle 90s.

Fair to partly cloudy skies are forecast for Saturday and Sunday. High temperatures both days should be in the low to middle 90s.

We might see a better chance of rain for our area Monday night.
