KTXS Forecast: Sunshine returns as highs warm to above average
ABILENE, Texas - Good morning! As Wednesday begins skies will be mostly clear to partly cloudy with temperatures in the upper 50s/ low 60s and have winds out of the south at 5-15 mph. Similar to yesterday, patchy fog is possible for some areas through the morning.
Wednesday afternoon skies clear to sunny/ mostly sunny with highs above normal in the mid/ upper 80s and winds build from the southeast at 10-20 mph. Wednesday night lows cool to the low 60s with mostly clear to partly cloudy conditions.
On Thursday highs warm to the upper 80s/ low 90s with mostly sunny conditions and winds will be out of the south at 5-15 mph. Thursday night partly cloudy skies build in and lows will be in the low/ mid-60s.
For Friday we will start off mostly sunny but build cloud cover through the afternoon. Highs will reach the upper 80s and winds from the southwest at 20-25 mph with higher wind gusts expected. There will be a 10-20 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms across the region. Friday night a cold front will move through the Big Country so lows will cool to the upper 50s, skies remain partly cloudy and winds will switch to the north at 10-20 mph. Rain chances are expected to linger overnight.
On Saturday rain chances decrease through the afternoon and skies clear to mostly sunny. Highs are expected to be below normal in the low 70s with winds from the northeast at 10-20 mph. Saturday night we will be clear with lows in the upper 40s.
Sunday, we will remain in the low/ mid-70s with sunny skies and winds from the southeast at 10-15 mph. Sunday night will be clear and in the upper 40s.
Currently for Monday and Tuesday, conditions look like they will be sunny with highs in the low/ mid-80s.
