ABILENE, Texas - Temperatures across the Big Country will climb well above average, near record breaking numbers. Most areas should see highs in the mid-90s but Concho Valley areas can expect to be in the lower 100s. Light winds from the southeast will not help cool things down much. Very sunny skies with a few upper level clouds will remain in the area.

Tonight, lows will be on a more mild trend, staying in the upper 60s to low 70s. Winds will be from the southeast at 10 mph.

Thursday will be an even hotter day with highs ranging from the upper 90s to low 100s. Winds will be from the south at 15 mph and skies will still be very sunny. Overnight, lows will be in the low 70s with light winds.

Friday, expect some cloud cover to work in from the west so temperatures will fall slightly because of it. Highs will be in about the mid-90s with south winds between 15 to 20 mph. Thundershowers may develop far west and work in slowly in the evening time, mainly just in our western counties. Lows Friday will be in the low 70s with partly cloudy skies.

Into the weekend, the cloud cover will remain in the area and temperatures are expected to respond accordingly. Highs will drop to the low 90s- a bit closer to average. Winds will be from the southeast at 10 mph. Lows will be in the low 70s once again.

Sunday, similar cloudy and cooler conditions are expected though still above average. Highs will be in the low 90s with southeast winds at 10 mph. Lows overnight will be in the low 70s.

Monday and Tuesday, a weakened tropical low from the pacific will possibly scrape by our area, bringing rain to the northern and western most areas.

Stay cool today, Big Country! -MM-
