KTXS Forecast: Thunderstorm chances for Tuesday afternoon

ABILENE, Texas - Scattered thunderstorms developed just west of our area late Monday afternoon and moved eastward into our western areas. These should fade before midnight.

Another upper level disturbance is forecast to move through our area Tuesday and bring back an even better chance for scattered thunderstorms for much of our area Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Thunderstorms should be gone by midnight Monday. Look for partly cloudy skies elsewhere for the rest of Monday night. Low temperatures Tuesday morning should be near 70.

Partly cloudy skies and above normal temperatures are expected again for Tuesday. High temperatures should be in the middle 90s.

Scattered thunderstorms are forecast to develop late afternoon and move east during Tuesday evening. Expect frequent lightning, gusty winds and possible quarter size hail in the strongest storms. Storms should fade late Tuesday evening.

Scattered thunderstorms will be possible again for mainly the afternoon and evening hours for Wednesday and Thursday. High temperatures should be in the low to middle 90s both days.

Dry weather is forecast for Friday through Sunday with continued above normal temperatures. Lows should be around 70 and highs should be in the lower 90s.
