ABILENE, Texas - Calm conditions continue tonight with building cloud cover. Lows will only be in the upper 50's.

Muggy conditions will be the start to Saturday as rain chances increase through the day. A dry line will move across the region through the day, Saturday and east of the line, thunderstorms will fire up and gradually move east. Showers are possible through the day but afternoon storms will concentrate on the eastern half of the Big Country. Highs are expected to be in the mid-70's. The main threat from these storms will be hail and strong winds. A 60 percent chance of thunderstorms carries into the evening. Lows will be in the lower 50's.

Rain chances do not quit Sunday as a front moves through the area. A 70 percent chance of rain will last through the early afternoon hours Sunday. Skies will begin to clear out through the evening and winds will turn to the north at 10-20 mph. Lows will be in the upper 40's/lower 50's.

Monday, things warm back up as the sunshine works its way back in. Highs will be close to 80 with west winds at about 5-10 mph. Overnight, lows will be in the mid-50's as cloud cover once again makes its way back into the Big Country.

Tuesday, increasing cloud cover and stronger winds from the south/southwest between 10-20 mph will not stop temperatures from getting into the mid-80's. A front will push through overnight letting temperatures get to the mid to upper 40's. Winds will be strong as the front moves through but calm by morning.

Wednesday, sunny and spring-like conditions return with highs in the upper 60's/lower 70's. Winds will be from the northwest at about 10-15 mph. Clearer skies and calm winds overnight will help temperatures fall to the lower 40's.

Thursday and Friday look to be very close to average for this time of year!
