KTXS Forecast: Tracking cooler air for Friday night
ABILENE, Texas - A weak cold front drifted into the northwest portions of the Big Country Thursday. It did help create a few thundershowers that faded around sundown. New storms Thursday evening are forming closer to the Red River. These are forecast to stay just north of our area.
Look for increasing clouds here for the rest of Thursday night. Low temperatures Friday morning should be in the low to middle 60s.
We could see showers affect our northern counties Friday morning. Isolated thunderstorms are possible for our eastern areas Friday afternoon. Most of our area will likely stay dry Friday under partly cloudy skies. High temperatures Friday should be in the upper 80s.
The cold front should move south through our area Friday night. Clouds are expected with the chance for light showers mainly south of I-20 Saturday morning. Low temperatures Saturday morning should be in the upper 40s.
Cloudy skies are forecast to be with us Saturday morning, but skies should clear from north to south during the afternoon. High temperatures Saturday will struggle to reach 70 with north winds around 20 mph.
Clear skies and chilly temperatures are expected for Saturday night. Low temperatures Sunday morning should be in the middle 40s. Enjoy a sunny Sunday with afternoon temperatures in the lower 70s.
Cool air should stay with us Sunday night with low temperatures Monday morning expected to be in the upper 40s.
Warmer temperatures return for the day Monday with afternoon temperatures back up around 80. Temperatures near 90 are possible for Tuesday and Wednesday under mostly sunny skies.
