KTXS Forecast: Tracking Saturday rain chances

ABILENE, Texas - We are tracking a fairly strong cold front that should blow through the area Saturday morning. Much of the Big Country could see high temperatures staying in the 60s.

Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are forecast to move across especially the Big Country before sunrise Saturday. Most of this activity should be east or north of our area before noon. Mostly cloudy skies and chilly temperatures are expected for the day. Highs should be in the 60s around and north of I-20 and in the 70s south of I-20. Watch out for northwest winds around 20 mph.

An upper level disturbance is forecast to move across our area Saturday night. Showers or thundershowers may move east into our western areas before sundown Saturday. Showers and thundershowers are expected to affect most of our area Saturday night. Low temperatures Sunday morning should be in the low to middle 40s.

Sunday should start out cloudy, but turn sunny for the afternoon. High temperatures will still struggle into the 60s around and north of I-20 and in the 70s south of I-20 Sunday. Another cold night is expected for Sunday night. Under fair skies lows should fall back into the 40s.

Sunny and warm temperature are right back with us for Monday and Tuesday. Afternoon temperatures should be in the 80s. We are tracking a chance for thunderstorms Wednesday as our next cold front moves in.
