KTXS Forecast: Very warm Friday

ABILENE, Texas - Above normal temperatures were with us Thursday with morning lows around 10 degrees above normal and afternoon highs near 5 degrees above normal. Even warmer afternoon temperatures are forecast for Friday. Look forward to milder temperatures Saturday as a weak cold front moves into our area.

Partly cloudy skies are forecast for Thursday night. Low temperatures Friday morning should be in the upper 60s. Partly cloudy skies should continue for Friday with afternoon temperatures in the upper 80s.

Friday night football games should be partly cloudy and warm with temperatures in the 70s. Showers could move into the Big Country afternoon midnight and before sunrise Saturday as the cold front moves in. Low temperatures Saturday morning should be in the middle 60s.

We have a chance for light showers mainly south of I-20 Saturday morning. Look for sunny skies for the Big Country Saturday afternoon. High temperatures should be in the lower 80s.

Fair skies and pleasant temperatures are expected for Saturday night. Low temperatures Sunday morning should be around 60.

Fair skies, dry air and southwest winds should help temperatures climb to near 90 Sunday afternoon. Warm and dry weather holds for Monday with highs near 90.

A cold front is forecast to move in Monday night and bring back a chance for showers Tuesday through Thursday with milder temperatures.

We are tracking Tropical Storm Nate. He is forecast to become a hurricane as he moves into the south central Gulf of Mexico earlyl Saturday. The current forecast has Nate making landfall in Southeast Lousiana Sunday morning.
