KTXS Forecast: Warm and breezy Friday

ABILENE, Texas - Above normal temperatures returned to our area Thursday with strong southwest winds. Winds died down Thursday evening. Look for fair skies Thursday night with lows in the middle 40s Friday morning.

Mostly sunny skies are expected for Friday. Afternoon temperatures should warm to around 70. Watch out for increasing southwest winds at 20-25 mph with gusts to around 30 mph.

Partly cloudy skies are forecast for Friday night. Low temperatures Saturday morning should be in the upper 40s.

An upper level disturbance moving eastward through our area Saturday should trigger scattered showers or thundershowers mainly in the afternoon and early evening hours. Otherwise, partly cloudy skies are expected with afternoon temperatures in the upper 60s.

Early evening showers are possible for eastern areas. Dry weather is forecast for the rest of our area Saturday night. Low temperatures Sunday morning should be in the 40s.

A cold front is forecast to move in around sunrise Sunday. It should help to bring even stronger winds for Sunday. Watch out for northwest winds at 25-35 mph hour. Wildfire danger will be higher Sunday. High temperatures Sunday should be in the lower 60s.

Look for warm and dry weather for Monday and Tuesday. Colder temperatures are forecast for Wednesday and Thursday.
