KTXS Forecast: Warm and breezy Thursday

ABILENE, Texas - Above normal temperatures will persist through Friday. We are tracking slight chances for showers Thursday evening and Friday night.

Clouds are forecast to return to much of our area before sunrise Thursday. Low temperatures Thursday morning should be in the lower 60s.

Morning clouds Thursday should give way to mostly sunny skies by afternoon. High temperatures should be in the middle to upper 80s. Watch out for south winds at 15-20 mph.

A weak cold front is forecast to move south into the Big Country Thursday evening. We could see a few thundershowers north of I-20 before midnight. Mainly it should be partly cloudy with low temperatures Friday morning in the low to middle 60s.

Dry air is forecast to spread east into our area Friday. High temperatures should climb to near 90. Thunderstorms may form on the dryline mainly northeast of our area late Friday afternoon.

The better chances for thunderstorms should be mainly around and north of the Red River Friday night. However showers may form on a cold front over our extreme eastern and southern areas early Saturday morning. Most of our area will likely stay dry. Low temperatures Saturday morning should be around 50.

Look for decreasing clouds Saturday with high temperatures near 70. Sunday should be Sunny with afternoon readings in the low to middle 70s. Warmer air is forecast to race back in Monday.
