KTXS Forecast: Warm and dry condtions into Thursday
ABILENE, Texas - We tracked widely scattered thunderstorms in our area Monday afternoon. These faded a little after sundown Monday evening. Dry weather is now expected for our area into Thursday.
Look for partly cloudy skies Monday night with low temperatures in the upper 50s. Morning clouds Tuesday should give way to mostly sunny skies for Tuesday afternoon. High temperatures should be in the middle 80s.
Clouds should return for Wednesday morning, but sunny skies are back for the afternoon. Low temperatures should be in the lower 60s with afternoon highs in the middle to upper 80s Wednesday.
We are tracking a cold front that may drift south into the Big Country Thursday afternoon. This feature could bring scattered showers and thunderstorms to mainly areas north of I-20 late Thursday afternoon and Thursday evening.
Rain chances should move back north for the day Friday. However, a stronger cold front is expected to move through our area late Friday night. This system should bring thunderstorms to mainly our northern and eastern areas.
Fair skies are forecast for the weekend with highs only in the 70s and lows in the 50s.
