KTXS Forecast: Warmer, sunnier, breezier forecast
ABILENE, Texas - For today, look for sunny skies and warmer weather with high temperatures reaching the upper 60s to lower 70s. It will also be a breezy one with a southwest wind at 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph being possible.
Tonight, that southwest wind will slow some but still be breezy at 10 to 15 mph. Mostly clear skies should prevail with overnight lows in the middle to lower 40s.
We are tracking a front that will move across Texas Friday. No rain chances will come with it but drier air will work in along with mostly sunny skies. Breezy conditions will continue from the southwest at 15 to 25 mph. High temperatures should rebound to the 60s.
Over the weekend, we will be watching yet another low pressure system sweeping from west to east across the Southern United States.
As the low pressure system moves across Oklahoma, a front will swing across the Big Country. Ahead of the front, there will be a small chance for an isolated shower. Most folks should stay dry with partly sunny skies. High temperatures will reach the lower to middle 60s. Breezy southwest winds will continue.
On Sunday, a secondary front with push through and aide in strong northerly to northwesterly winds at 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 being possible. Sunny skies will return.
Monday, temperatures rebound to the lower 70s but with northwest winds returning Tuesday, high temperatures will steadily cool down to the 60s then to the 50s Wednesday.
