KTXS Forecast: Warmer weather coming to the Big Country
ABILENE, Texas - Saturday night conditions will be well below freezing once again with lows cooling to the upper teens/ low 20s. Skies will remain clear and winds will be out of the south at 5-10 mph. If you have any plans tonight, you are going to need a heady jacket to stay warm. Don't forget to drip your pipes and bring in any outdoor pets.
On Sunday, as a ridge of high pressure builds into the region, highs will warm to the low 50s with mostly sunny skies and breezy south winds at 10-20 mph. Sunday night windy conditions will remain, skies will be mostly clear and lows will cool to the low/ mid-30s.
Monday afternoon highs will jump to above normal temperatures in the low/ mid-60s with mostly sunny conditions. Winds will be out of the southwest at 10-20 mph. Monday night lows cool to the mid-40s with mostly clear skies and breezy southwest wind at 10-20 mph.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, the warming trend will continue. Highs will build to the low 70s with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies and south winds at 5-15 mph. Lows during this time will be in the upper 40s.
Thursday afternoon highs will be in the low 70s with partly cloudy skies. Into Thursday night a cold front will push through the region. Lows will cool the low 40s, winds will switch to the north at 5-10 mph and there will be a 10 percent chance of isolated showers.
Friday's conditions will be in the upper 50s with mostly cloudy skies with a 10 percent chance of showers for the region.
