KTXS Forecast: Warming into the weekend

ABILENE, Texas - An increasing south wind is helping to bring back warm air into our area. Near normal temperatures are forecast for Friday. Above normal readings are expected for Saturday and Sunday.

Clouds moved back in Thursday evening. They should continue for most of Thursday night, but no rain should fall. Low temperatures Friday morning should be around 50.

Mostly sunny skies are expected for the daytime Friday. High temperatures should warm to near 80. Winds should be from the south at 10 mph around sunrise, but increase to around 20 mph by noon.

Look for fair skies Friday evening with some cloudiness returning after midnight. Low temperatures Saturday morning should be around 60.

Mostly sunny and breezy conditions are expected again for Saturday. High temperatures should climb into the middle 80s. Watch out for south to southwest winds at 15-25 mph.

Cloudy skies are expected to move in Saturday night. Low temperatures Sunday morning should start out in the middle 60s.

As the dryline moves east Sunday, thunderstorms could form in our eastern area late Sunday afternoon. Temperatures Sunday should be in the middle to upper 80s.

Unsettled weather is expected for much of the week ahead with above normal temperatures and storm chances each day through Thursday.
