KTXS Forecast: Warming temperatures ahead

ABILENE, Texas - Below normal temperatures moved into our area Wednesday. They should stay Wednesday night and then much warmer air moves back in by Thursday afternoon.

A few clouds may move back in before sunrise Thursday. Otherwise, enjoy mild temperatures with lows around 50 Thursday morning.

Mostly sunny skies and strong southwest winds should be back by Thursday afternoon. High temperatures should be in the middle to upper 80s. Watch out for steady winds around 20 mph for the afternoon.

Mostly cloudy skies are forecast to return for Thursday night. Low temperatures Friday morning should be in the middle 60s.

Partly cloudy skies are expected for Friday. We are tracking a chance for late afternoon thunderstorms for our eastern areas. High temperatures should be near 90.

Weather forecast models are suggesting that an area of thunderstorms will move east across much of area before sunrise Saturday. Low temperatures Saturday morning should be in the lower 60s.

A cold front should move through much of our area during the day Saturday. The better chances for thunderstorms looks to be to our east. High temperatures Saturday should be near 80.

A trailing upper level disturbance is expected to move through our region Saturday night and bring a chance for showers. Low temperatures Sunday morning should be chilly - in the upper 40s.

Sunny skies are expected before noon Sunday. High temperatures Sunday should be near 70. Mostly sunny skies and 80s are forecast for Monday and Tuesday.
