KTXS Forecast: Warming trend on the way ahead of a mid-week cool down
ABILENE, Texas - A cool and breezy day will turn into a chilly and calm night, tonight. Winds will calm after 7 PM and skies will clear out helping temperatures fall back into the lower 40's.
Monday, temperatures quickly warm up back into the mid-80's once again. Southern counties in the Concho Valley may get close to 90 degrees in the afternoon. Winds will be calm and turn from the south to the west at 5-10 mph. Overnight, lows will be milder in the mid to upper 50's.
Tuesday, cloudy cover is expected to build in through the day. Highs will be in the upper 80's/lower 90's. Winds kick back up to the south at 20 mph. Overnight, rain chances build to a 30 percent chance of showers ahead of the next front that will move through. Lows will be in the mid to upper 60's.
Wednesday, thundershowers are possible with the front moving through mid-day. This will keep highs in the upper 70's/lower 80's for the day. Strong winds follow behind the front from the north at 25 mph but higher gusts are likely. Overnight, lows will be in the upper 40's/lower 50's with north winds between 10-20 mph.
Thursday will be breezy as well with north winds between 10-20 mph. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70's with clear skies. Lows will be in the upper 40's with winds calming and turning to the east at 5 mph.
Friday, temperatures warm back to the upper 70's/lower 80's with mostly sunny skies. Winds will be light from the east at 5-10 mph. Lows will be in the upper 40's/lower 50's.
Saturday and Sunday look to be a warm weekend with highs in the 80's and 90's once again. Cloud cover is expected to build into Sunday.
