KTXS Forecast: Warming with weekend rain chances
ABILENE, Texas - Below normal temperatures were with us again Thursday. The north or northeast winds that brought in mild air the past few days will switch back to the south Friday. Look for warmer and more humid air over our area for the weekend.
Fair skies will continue for Thursday night. Low temperatures Friday morning should be in the lower 60s. Sunny skies are back for Friday. High temperatures should warm to around 90.
Fair skies are forecast for Friday evening football games. Temperatures for the games should be in the lower 80s at kickoff and in the middle 70s for the end of the game.
Clouds should move in from the north late Friday night. Low temperatures Saturday morning should be in the upper 60s. Partly cloudy skies are expected for Saturday. High temperatures should be in the lower 90s.
An upper level disturbance should move south into our area late Saturday and linger into Tuesday. This feature will bring back scattered showers or thundershowers to our area for Saturday night into Tuesday. Rain chances will be around 20 percent.
The additional cloudiness Sunday through Tuesday should help keep high temperatures in the upper 80s. A cold front is forecast to move in late Tuesday and bring slightly milder air for the middle of the upcoming week.
