KTXS Forecast: Well below normal highs with lingering showers

ABILENE, Texas - Good morning! As you're getting up conditions outside will be cloudy with temperatures ranging from the upper 50s to upper 60s and winds will be out of the north/ northeast at 5-15 mph. There are scattered showers across the region this morning so an umbrella or rain jacket will be needed. Fog is also possible for several locations across the Big Country. Be mindful of wet driving conditions and possible slight flooding on roadways this morning.

Wednesday afternoon with see highs well below normal for this time of year in the low/ mid-70s with cloudy skies. Winds will keep out of the northeast at 5-15 mph and rain chances will remain around 70-80 percent through the day. Wednesday night will see lows in the low 60s with persisting rain chances.

Thursday and Friday look like they will be cloudy with temperatures staying cool in the low/ mid-70s. Winds will be out of the northeast at 5-10 mph and Rain chances both days will hover between 40-50 percent. Lows through this period will be in the upper 50s/ low 60s with continuing rain chances.

Into the weekend, on Saturday, skies will clear to partly cloudy conditions with highs warming to the mid-70s across the region and winds will switch to the southeast at 5-10 mph. Through the afternoon there will be a 10-20 percent chance of scattered showers. Saturday night will be partly cloudy and in the low/ mid-60s.

Sunday and Monday will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy with highs getting around average in the low/ mid-80s and winds will be out of the southeast at 5-10 mph. Lows through this period will be in the mid-60s with partly cloudy conditions.

Currently, for Tuesday, the region will stay partly cloudy with highs around normal in the low/ mid-80s. Winds will be out of the east/ southeast at 5-10 mph and there will be a 10 percent chance of showers through the day. Tuesday night will be partly cloudy and in the mid-60s.
