KTXS Forecast: Windy afternoon ahead of overnight cold front
ABILENE, Texas - Good morning! As you begin the day conditions outside will be mostly clear to partly cloudy with temperatures in the mid to upper 50s/ low 60s and winds out of the south at 5-15 mph.
Tuesday afternoon skies will be mostly sunny with highs in the low/ mid-80s. Winds through the afternoon will build from the southwest at 15-30 mph with higher gusts likely. Into Tuesday night a cold front will move through the region so winds will switch to the northwest at 10-20 mph, skies will be clear and lows cool to the lower 40s.
Wednesday afternoon highs will be slightly below normal in the mid/ upper 60s with sunny skies and winds from the northwest at 10-20 mph. Wednesday night will be clear and in the mid-40s.
On Thursday, highs will warm back to around normal in the mid-70s with sunny conditions and winds from the south at 5-10 mph. Thursday night lows cool to the mid-40s with mostly clear skies.
For our Friday, Highs warm even more to the upper 70s with mostly sunny conditions and winds from the south at 5-15 mph. Into Friday night skies will be mostly clear with temperatures in the upper 40s.
Over the weekend for both Saturday and Sunday, highs currently look like they will be in the mid-80s with mostly sunny skies. Lows through this period will be in the upper 50s/ low 60s.
Currently Monday looks like it will be partly cloudy with highs in the low 80s and a 20-30 percent chance of thundershowers for the region.
