ABILENE, Texas - We started out Monday morning in the 40s but warmed up to near 80 Monday afternoon. Stronger southwest winds around 30 mph will keep us very warm Tuesday.

Mostly fair skies should continue into Monday night. Some clouds are possible around sunrise Tuesday. Low temperatures Tuesday morning should be in the middle 50s.

A developing low pressure area and approaching cold front should cause southwest winds to increase to around 30 mph by afternoon Tuesday. Temperatures should climb into the low to middle 80s. We are tracking a slight chance for thundershowers for our far northern areas for late Tuesday afternoon.

A second, stronger cold front is forecast to move in Tuesday evening. Look for mostly fair skies with low temperatures in the lower 40s Wednesday morning. Winds should be from the northwest at around 20 mph.

Enjoy sunny skies and cool temperatures Wednesday and Thursday with afternoon temperatures in the low to middle 70s. Partly cloudy skies and warming temperatures return Friday. Partly cloudy skies are forecast for the weekend with afternoon temperatures in the middle to upper 80s.
