Lady Bulldogs have sights set on getting over deep postseason hump
ABILENE, TX - After some time off for spring break, Wylie Lady Bulldog soccer is hoping to continue some recent tradition it has set, as the playoffs kick-off this week.
Wylie has won three straight district titles now, with this year being an out-right championship.
"We didn't want to share district and we accomplished that, and then be in the playoffs, we accomplished that again," head coach Manuel Cordova said about his team.
The past two seasons the Lady Bulldogs have hit roadblock in the postseason, after being bounced by Kennedale.
Wylie hosts Decatur in the first round at Bulldog Stadium on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. --- and their year-long goals have them set for another long stretch in the playoffs.
"One of the quotes I really like that they put was to be undefeated in the playoffs. That's really important for us, especially if we want to inspire a bit more than what we've done in the past couple years," said Cordova.
"Being undefeated in the playoffs will for sure light a fire in you because you'll face some adversity."
