Love and Care Ministries unloads 13 trailers of donated items
ABILENE, Texas - Mission Thanksgiving wrapped up Friday, but that doesn't mean the hard work is over. Volunteers woke up early Saturday morning to unload all the trailers at Love and Care Ministries. They unloaded 13 trailers that had been filled with food, clothing, blankets and toiletries. The director of Love and Care Ministries hopes the 4 truckloads of food will last until April. All the donations go to the homeless and the working poor in Abilene and the surrounding area. " I've always believed that God knows the need, " said Mark Hewitt, the director of Love and Care Ministries. " I think the goal's been met this year. You know you look around, you see what God's given us. I just say thank you." There were more than 700 volunteers at Friday ' s Mission Thanksgiving.
