Police: Man walks into station, confesses to starting house fire in San Angelo
SAN ANGELO, Texas - Alejos Muniz, 27, is behind bars at the Tom Green County Jail after admitting to investigators he started a house fire. He's charged with felony arson in connection with a fire Thursday at 415 East 21st Street in San Angelo. The City of San Angelo Fire Marshal's Office was contacted by the San Angelo Police Department at about 11 a.m. Saturday. They said there was a man at the police station who said he had information regarding the fire. An arson investigator with the Fire Marshal's Office interviewed Muniz, who told the investigator he started the fire. The Fire Marshal's Office placed Muniz under arrest and booked him into the Tom Green County Jail. Jail records show Muniz is from Carlsbad, a town about 17 miles northwest of San Angelo.
