Mark Rowlett: Dry weather should stay for a while
ABILENE, Texas - Sunday was finally a day with no rain or storms in our area. Sunday was the first day in a week with no rainfall measured in Abilene. Dry weather is expected to continue into the weekend.
Look for fair skies Sunday night with lows around 60 Monday morning. With lots of flooded fields, we could see some patchy fog to start the day Monday. Otherwise, sunny skies are expected with afternoon temperatures in the middle 80s.
Weak weather systems near us Tuesday and Wednesday could send some clouds into our area, but dry weather is forecast to continue. Partly cloudy skies should be found for Tuesday through Saturday.
Temperatures are forecast to gradually increase back to normal levels for this time of the year. Highs should be in the middle 80s Monday and in the upper 80s Tuesday and Wednesday. Readings around 90 are forecast for Thursday through Sunday.
Low temperatures should be around 60 Monday and Tuesday mornings, in the middle 60s Wednesday morning and in the upper 60s Thursday through Sunday.
Please check around your home or business and drain any standing water so maybe we can cut down on the number of new mosquitoes.
