ABILENE, Texas - Heavy rainfall with full creeks and lakes led to flooding in Breckenridge, Brownwood / Early and in southern Taylor County Tuesday.

All lakes and reservoirs east of a line from Knox City to Abilene to Coleman to Brownwood are full or overflowing. With saturated ground and no more storage capacity in this area, flooding is likely with any additional heavy rainfall.

We are tracking an upper level low pressure system that should move into our area Thursday and not leave until early Saturday. This feature will keep good chances for heavy rainfall over our area into Saturday.

A Flash Flood Watch continues in effect until Thursday morning for most of our area. One to three more inches of rainfall will be possible.

Look for mostly cloudy skies with scattered thunderstorms for Wednesday. Thundershowers are likely for Thursday and Friday. Scattered thundershowers are forecast for mainly our eastern areas for Saturday. Dry weather should be back with us for Sunday through Tuesday.

Temperatures should range from the middle 60s to near 80 Wednesday. Look for lows around 60 and highs in the 70s Thursday and Friday.
