Melissa Valdez: July 4th weekend ending on a hot note

ABILENE, Texas - For Sunday partly cloudy skies remain with highs getting into the low/ mid-90s for the region. Winds will pick up from the southwest at 10-20 mph. Once again we have a 10-20 percent chance of isolated thundershowers for the region, particularly in the late part of the afternoon. Sunday night rain chances linger and we see lows in the mid-70s.

For Monday, which is July 4th, cloud cover starts to clear out to mostly sunny skies by the later afternoon for most areas. Highs are expected to be in the mid to upper 90s for the region with south winds at 5-15 mph. There is a 10 percent chance of isolated showers through the afternoon and into the evening. Monday night will be mostly clear with lows in the mid-70s and south winds at 5-10 mph. Though there is a 10 percent chance of isolated showers, rain chances will decrease into the later part of the evening.

Starting Tuesday we have mostly sunny skies with south winds at 10-15 mph. Highs for many places will be in the upper 90s with some areas hitting the triple digits. This trend will continue through Friday with low to no rain chances.

On Saturday we will see a little bit more cloud cover but remain mostly sunny with highs in the upper 90s and south winds at 5-10 mph.
