Amy Chumney , a former Bronte HS teacher who now substitutes, said she and the quarterback, Tanner Bedford, talked about the idea. When the rest of the team got behind it, she and another parent rounded up the flags. "We may be small, but have big hearts," Chumney said. She said Bedford and her son Cade, who plays linebacker/left guard Cade Chumney, the flag run made them feel both proud and patriotic. While Bronte lost 29-22, they won before ever taking the field.
