Investigators say the mother of three may not have been the intended target, adding that one of her relatives got into an argument with someone else at a party. Officers said the gunman may have come to Allen's apartment looking for the relative. The suspect fled the scene in an SUV.

Later in the day, police arrested 32-year-old Desmond Leray Farr in the crime. Police said Farr was involved in an altercation with someone yesterday evening near Perrin Beitel and Loop 410. Farr allegedly made threats to the person and later showed up to his house where he fired shots into his home. The shots resulted in Allen's death.
