San Angelo woman killed in Texas Panhandle plane crash
WELLINGTON, Texas - The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate a plane crash in the Texas Panhandle that killed two people, including a San Angelo woman.
Claton Miller, 28, of Wellington -- and his passenger -- 40-year-old Danna Wilhelm of San Angelo -- were killed when the plane crashed shortly after taking off Saturday afternoon from the airport near Wellington, said Sgt. Cindy Barkley with the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Barkley said a witness told investigators Miller banked to make a turn after takeoff and lost control of the plane.
The Bellanca 7GCBC Citabria overturned and crashed in a field just south of the airport. Barkley said there were high winds at the time of the crash.
According to public records, Miller lived in Abilene for a few years before moving to Wellington.
