Snyder woman sentenced to 25 years for severely injuring stepdaughter
SNYDER, Texas - A 22-year-old Snyder woman was convicted of felony injury to a child Wednesday and was sentenced to 25 years in prison Thursday.
Meghan Rebecca Wilson was arrested for causing serious blunt-force trauma to her stepdaughter in June 2015, and it only took an hour for a jury to return the verdict Wednesday, according to the Snyder Daily News.
The girl was taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock and had to undergo emergency surgery to survive, the Daily News reported.
Wilson was eligible for probation, but the multi-decade sentence handed down from jurors took that off the table.
