South Abilene home burns for second time in 18 months
ABILENE, Texas - A south Abilene fire caught on fire Thursday for the second time in 18 months.
The Abilene Fire Department responded to a fire just before 3 a.m. in the 2200 block of Palm Street.
When they arrived, the home was engulfed in flames. Firefighters put it out within 20 minutes.
Investigators are working to determine the cause. Damage is estimated at more than $20,000.
No injuries were reported.
The same home caught fire Jan. 23, 2016. When someone who lived there fell asleep with a lit cigarette.
Abilene firefighters were called out just before 3 a.m. Thursday to a fire on the 2400 block of Palm Street in south Abilene.
Neighbors reported hearing a loud bang about the time the fire started.
It is unknown what caused the fire and if there are any injuries that resulted.
