Sunshine and dry weather for first full week of June

ABILENE, Texas - For the first time in several weeks, no rain chances are in the forecast over the next few days. This is all due to our weather pattern allowing for a ridge of high pressure to build over the southern United States.

For today, some patchy fog may start out the day in a few locations especially in low lying areas. Afterwards, look for full sunshine with high temperatures in the middle 80s. Winds will be back out of the northeast at 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight will be another pleasant one with lows reaching the upper 50s and lower 60s. We will remain under clear skies with light winds becoming southerly.

Little change to the forecast is expected over the next several days as the ridge of high pressure remains strong and in place over the southern United States.

A few clouds may pop-up on Tuesday and Wednesday but we will still have plenty of sunshine.

Temperatures will eventually climb to the upper 80s for Tuesday through Friday of this week. A few 90s cannot be ruled out. Overall, temperatures will be near normal for this time of year.

As we reach the weekend, a few additional clouds may sweep over the Big Country but the forecast should remain dry with low 90s for high temperatures.

By the beginning of next week, we may see a chance for a thunderstorm in the forecast. At this time, details are not solid enough to determine if that possibility is high enough to warrant a rain chance.

For now, enjoy the beautiful and dry weather!
