Sweetwater police seek man accused of Friday morning stabbing
SWEETWATER, Texas - Sweetwater police are looking for a man they say is responsible for stabbing another person early Friday morning.
The stabbing happened around 5:30 a.m. in the 700 block of East Avenue B, and police found the victim, 29-year-old Rodolfo Hernandez, stabbed multiple times.
Witnesses told police that the suspect is Reynaldo James, 31, of Sweetwater. James fled before police arrived at the scene. Sweetwater police say they're seeking a warrant for his arrest.
Hernandez was taken to Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital and was reported to be in stable condition after emergency surgery. It's unknown how many times he was stabbed.
James has a criminal history in Taylor County, and he was arrested for violating a protective order the day before the alleged stabbing. He also has a pending charge of burglary of a habitation and assault family violence.
