Texas High School Rodeo State Finals rides into the the Expo Center

The 28th consecutive Texas High School Rodeo State Finals have officially kicked off at the Taylor County Expo Center.

700 high school competitors will face off in several events ranging from barrel racing, goat tying, calf roping and more.

The Abilene Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Taylor County Expo Center have partnered up to host the THSRA State Finals for almost three decades.

"As other destinations around the state have built or updated their Expo facilities, Abilene has maintained business based on a solid reputation of extraordinary customer service and true southern hospitality," Nanci Liles, Executive Director for the ACVB said.

"Part of what went into the decision for THSRA to return was the future updates in facilities to the Expo Center through the bond."

Daily ticket prices are $7 for adults and $4 students.

Ticket prices for the finals are $8 adults and $5 students.
