Texas large and small‘employer of the year' both in Big Country
A pair of Big Country businesses have won top honors from the Texas Workforce Commission. Arrow Ford in Abilene was named Small Employer of the Year and Brownwood Regional Medical Center was named Large Employer of the Year. Arrow Ford opened in 1964. It currently employs approximately 125 people, including 13 veterans. "Arrow Ford supports a diversified workforce that includes veterans and soon-to-be separating active duty military personnel," said TWCCommissioner Representing Employers Ruth R. Hughs. "I commend Arrow Ford for hiring our nation's heroes, and congratulate them on receiving this award recognizing their leadership as a Texas employer who excels in their contributions to the community." "We are honored to be recognized as Texas Workforce Solutions Small Employer of the Year," said Arrow Ford Dealer Principal Seaton Higginbotham. "Serving Abilene and this great state of Texas is what it's all about." BRMC has been providing health care to the Brown County area since 1969. BRMC employs approximately 500 health care professionals. "Preparing our future healthcare workforce is crucial work and I commend BRMC for their innovative and valuable work," said TWC Chairman Andres Alcantar.
