Texas man sentenced to 99 years in prison for sexually assaulting infant
BEAUMONT, Texas (KFDM/SBG) - A Beaumont man was sentenced Thursday to 99 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 3-month-old infant.
"The verdict in this case ensures that this defendant will never harm another child," Assistant District Attorney Kim Pipkin said after sentencing. "I'm proud that this community stood up for the safety of our children."
Madison will have to serve the entirety of the 99 year sentence and will not be eligible for parole. He will also be a registered sex offender for life.
EARLIER: A Beaumont man will spend at least 25 years in prison and also faces the possibility of life for sexually assaulting a 3-month-old girl.
On Wednesday, Nov. 8, a jury convicted 42-year-old Cedric Madison of super-aggravated sexual assault of a child.
KFDM/Fox 4's Peter Eliopoulos reports on the night Madison called police and admitted to sexually assaulting the baby. His confession was caught on a police camera.
Assistant District Attorney Kim Pipkin spoke to KFDM:
"This is by far the youngest victim that I've dealt with and even that I know anybody in our office has dealt with," Pipkin said. "And, she was 3-months-old. There was literally nothing she could do. She couldn't say no. She couldn't tell anyone that this was happening."
