Tracking a sunny Friday, clouds increase for the weekend
ABILENE, Texas - For Friday and through the weekend, temperatures will be near normal for this time of year. Some cloud cover returns this weekend as a weak upper level disturbance moves along the Rio Grande.
For today, we should have sunny skies with a few clouds showing up this afternoon. Temperatures should warm to the middle 90s. Winds will be south-southeasterly at 10 to 15 mph.
Tonight, partly cloudy skies should build in late with overnight lows trying to reach the middle to lower 70s. Southerly winds are forecast at 10 to 15 mph.
The forecast stays mostly sunny and dry for Saturday with mid-90s for a high temperature.
On Sunday, we cannot rule out a stray t-shower while we have partly sunny skies.
A slight chance for a t-shower will persist through Tuesday with partly sunny skies and mid to lower 90s.
The summer ridge of high pressure begins to re-strengthen on Tuesday and returns us to rain-free days by Wednesday with mostly sunny skies and afternoon temperature readings approaching the middle to upper 90s.
