Tracking slowly returning humidity, mostly sunny skies

ABILENE, Texas - Weather will stay seasonal through the end of the work week with humidity climbing slowly.

For today, expected mostly sunny skies with temperatures attempting a hold in the upper 80s. A few low 90s will be possible across parts of the Big Country. Winds will be south-southeasterly at 5 to 15 mph.

Tonight, some partly cloudy conditions may attempt to build in with overnight lows in the upper 60s. Winds will maintain the same speed and direction from the day through the night.

Overnight Thursday, some thunderstorms that develop at the New Mexico/Texas border will be fading out. I cannot rule out the chance that the far western edge of the viewing area may see a few rain drops if they make it that far. Everywhere else will continue to stay dry.

On Friday, we stay with the mostly sunny skies trend with upper 80s.

By the weekend, scattered clouds will return each day with upper 80s and low 90s each afternoon.

A stray typical garden-variety t'shower cannot be ruled out in the middle of the afternoon on Saturday and Sunday.

That isolated afternoon t'shower chance will also be possible Monday through Wednesday of next week as we track a weak disturbance that moves out of the Desert Southwest and shifts to the Central Plains by Tuesday.

Temperature readings look to reach the lower to middle 90s for Monday through Wednesday of next week.
