Tracking warming temperatures and a few clouds
ABILENE, Texas - The weather pattern that we are currently situated under continues to hold strong as additional days of dry and mostly sunny weather is expected.
For today, some high clouds could start the day as they fade from overnight thunderstorms that occurred in the Panhandles of Texas and Oklahoma. We will stay dry again today with high temperatures returning to the middle and upper 80s. Winds return from the southeast at 5 to 10 mph.
Tonight, we will go with mostly clear skies and lows only reaching the middle 60s as southeast winds at 5 to 10 mph slowly bring in moisture from the Gulf of Mexico.
We repeat our dry and mostly sunny weather pattern Wednesday through Sunday with temperatures going from the upper 80s to eventually the low 90s by Saturday.
By Monday of next week, the ridge of high pressure aiding to our break in the rain, flattens out. This will allow a weak disturbance to move close to our region of Texas.
At this time, I have kept rain chances at only a 10 percent for Monday as indications show this to not be a strong system. If anything can spark, it would be isolated in nature and only affect a limited area.
For now, continue to enjoy the dry and sunny weather.
